C1q neutralization experiment

🧫 Experiment Protocol Validationperioperative neurocognitive disordersC1qaratsproposed
This targeted intervention experiment involved neutralizing C1q, the initiator of the complement cascade, to test its role in microglial synaptic elimination following prolonged anesthesia. C1q neutralization was performed in the sevoflurane-induced neurotoxicity model to determine if blocking the complement pathway at its initiation point could prevent synaptic loss. The results showed that C1q neutralization led to decreased complement activation and interrupted synaptic elimination, providing direct evidence that the complement cascade is essential for anesthesia-induced synaptic loss.
