This experiment examined the time course of clearance of α-synuclein preformed fibrils after injection into the olfactory bulb of Snca knockout mice. The purpose was to determine how quickly exogenously injected PFFs are cleared from brain tissue in the absence of endogenous α-synuclein expression. This provides baseline information about PFF persistence and clearance mechanisms.
