Confirmation study of previous findings showing that individual microtubules in axons consist of labile and stable domains, and that tau depletion results in selective shortening and partial stabilization of the labile domain. This experiment extended previous work from juvenile rodent neurons to adult axons to validate the generalizability of the microtubule domain organization findings.
