Abstract

BACKGROUND: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by chronic neuroinflammation alongside amyloid-beta plaque and phosphorylated tau (p-Tau) tangle accumulation. Microglia, as resident immune cells, undergo glycolytic reprogramming that may exacerbate inflammation and impede toxic protein clearance.
