Abstract

L-carnitine (LC) and acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) aid in the transfer of fatty acids inside the mitochondria and may alleviate toxic syndromes marked by oxidative stress, poor β-oxidation, hyperammonemia, and mitochondrial dysfunction.
