ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: BuYang HuanWu Decoction (BYHW), a classical herbal formula first documented in Yilin Gaicuo (1830), is officially listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia for the treatment of stroke and sequelae attributed to "qi deficiency and blood stasis."
