Overview
The ARC gene encodes the Activity-Regulated Cytoskeleton-associated protein (Arc), also known as Arg3.1. Arc is an immediate early gene that is rapidly induced by neuronal activity and is critical for synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory[@link1995]. Arc is one of the most studied plasticity-related proteins and has been implicated in various neurological disorders.
