CD200 (Cluster of Differentiation 200) is a widely expressed membrane glycoprotein that serves as a critical immune checkpoint molecule in the central nervous system. Originally identified as an immunoregulatory protein, CD200 interacts with its receptor CD200R to deliver inhibitory signals that suppress myeloid cell activation, including microglial cells in the brain. This signaling axis represents one of the most important mechanisms maintaining neuroimmune homeostasis["@wright2000"][@cardona2020].
