RAB43 (RAB43, Member RAS Oncogene Family) is a member of the RAB GTPase family of small GTP-binding proteins that function as molecular switches in intracellular membrane trafficking. Located on chromosome 7q21.3, RAB43 plays specialized roles in vesicular transport pathways, particularly in the trafficking between the Golgi apparatus and endosomes, as well as in lysosomal delivery and phagocytic pathways. The gene has attracted significant attention in neurodegenerative disease research due to its involvement in Parkinson's disease pathogenesis and its role in lysosomal function, which is critically impaired in several neurodegenerative conditions[@bezzi2021].
