TIA1L (TIA1 Cytotoxic Granule-Associated RNA Binding Protein-Like) is a member of the TIA family of RNA binding proteins that plays critical roles in post-transcriptional gene regulation, stress granule assembly, and RNA metabolism. TIA1L is highly expressed in the brain, particularly in neurons of the cortex, hippocampus, and basal ganglia, where it participates in translational control and stress response pathways that are increasingly recognized as central to neurodegenerative disease pathogenesis [@tia1_2005].
