BMPR2 Protein

Overview

BMPR2 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor Type 2) is a constitutively active type II serine/threonine kinase receptor that transduces Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) signals in partnership with type I receptors (BMPR1A/ALK3 or BMPR1B/ALK6)[@yan2019]. BMPR2 is essential for embryonic development, skeletal formation, cardiovascular function, and has increasingly recognized roles in neural development and neurodegeneration[@gomez2018].
