DDX20 (also known as Gemin3) is a DEAD-box RNA helicase that plays critical roles in RNA processing and is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. [@charroux2010] This protein functions as an essential component of the SMN complex, where it facilitates spliceosome biogenesis and snRNP assembly. Research has demonstrated its importance in maintaining neuronal health and its potential involvement in conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and spinal muscular atrophy.
