Overview

Neuropilin-2 (NRP2) is a transmembrane co-receptor protein that plays essential roles in development and adult physiology by mediating interactions between cells and their microenvironment. As a member of the neuropilin family (along with [NRP1](/proteins/nrp1-protein)), NRP2 binds to multiple ligand families including class 3 semaphorins and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family members, enabling it to participate in diverse biological processes ranging from axonal guidance and circuit formation to lymphatic vessel development and immune cell trafficking[@chen2017].
