The RPS19 gene is located on chromosome 19q13.42 and encodes a protein of 145 amino acids with a molecular weight of approximately 16 kDa. RPS19 is a member of the S19P family of ribosomal proteins and is located at the interface between the small and large ribosomal subunits.
