Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting P2RX1, P2RX4, P2RX5, P2RX7, P2RY1, P2RY12, PANX1, ADORA2B, NLRP3, F3, ENTPD1, CD38 in human leukocytes from COVID-19 patients. Primary outcome: differential gene expression of purinergic signaling components
Analysis of gene expression profiles in leukocytes from COVID-19 patients compared to healthy controls using microarray data from public datasets. The study examined expression of purinergic signaling genes including P2 receptors (P2RX1, P2RX4, P2RX5, P2RX7, P2RY1, P2RY12), pannexin 1 (PANX1), adenosine receptor A2B (ADORA2B), NLRP3 inflammasome, tissue factor (F3), and ectoenzymes (ENTPD1, CD38). Gene expression data was obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases and analyzed using bioinformatics approaches to identify upregulated purinergic signaling components.
Raw genomics data from COVID-19 patient samples obtained by microarray from GEO databases, analyzed using bioinformatics and statistical methods
Upregulation of purinergic receptor genes and ectoenzymes in COVID-19 patients compared to controls
Significant upregulation of target genes in COVID-19 patients
