Gamma entrainment therapy (GET) in Alzheimer's restores hippocampal-cortical synchrony by enhancing PV+ and SST interneuron function to reduce excitatory-inhibitory (E/I) imbalance. In ALS, motor cortex exhibits cortical hyperexcitability partially attributable to GABAergic dysfunction and reduced PV+ interneuron activity.
