Long-term potentiation (LTP) recordings were performed in medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) slices to assess synaptic plasticity changes. Protein quantification was conducted to measure expression levels of synaptic proteins including PSD95, synapsin-1, and BDNF, as well as the neuropeptide PACAP and downstream eEF2 signaling components. This experiment investigated how ZG treatment affects synaptic function and protein synthesis pathways that were impaired in the PCPA model mice.
PRIMARY OUTCOME
LTP amplitude and synaptic protein expression levels
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
ZG treatment would restore impaired LTP and increase synaptic protein expression
SUCCESS CRITERIA
Significant improvement in LTP and increased expression of synaptic proteins
PROTOCOL
LTP recordings in mPFC slices, protein quantification via Western blot or similar techniques
