HiSense Taxi App RCT for Disability Sensitivity Training

Clinical Score: 0.900 Price: $0.50 taxi drivers Status: proposed

What This Experiment Tests

Clinical experiment designed to assess clinical efficacy targeting N/A in taxi drivers. Primary outcome: Knowledge about sensitivity and responsiveness towards individuals with disabilities

Description

A randomized controlled trial with repeated measures design was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the HiSense Taxi App, a mobile learning intervention designed to improve taxi drivers' knowledge, empathy, and self-efficacy when serving clients with disabilities. Participants were randomly assigned to either an intervention group that received access to the HiSense Taxi App or a waitlist control group. The study used pre-test and post-test measurements to assess changes in three primary domains: knowledge about sensitivity and responsiveness toward individuals with disabilities, empathy towards clients, and self-efficacy among drivers. The intervention consisted of brief daily mobile learning sessions delivered through the app. Results showed a significant interaction effect between group and time for knowledge outcomes, with the intervention group demonstrating significant improvement while the waitlist group showed a significant decrease. However, no significant interactions were found for empathy or self-efficacy measures, suggesting that mobile learning may be more effective for knowledge acquisition than for developing interpersonal skills.

Protocol

Randomized controlled trial with repeated measures design. Participants randomly assigned to intervention group (HiSense Taxi App access) or waitlist control group. Pre-test and post-test measurements of knowledge, empathy, and self-efficacy. Brief daily mobile learning sessions for intervention group.

Expected Outcomes

Improved knowledge, empathy, and self-efficacy among taxi drivers in the intervention group compared to waitlist control group

Success Criteria

Significant interaction effects between group and time, with intervention group showing greater improvement than control group on outcome measures
