Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting LINC00599 in In vitro phase separation assays. Primary outcome: Liquid-liquid phase separation formation
This mechanistic study investigated the molecular interaction between LINC00599 and MYH9 (myosin heavy chain 9) through liquid-liquid phase separation. The research demonstrated that LINC00599 facilitates liquid-liquid phase separation with MYH9, which is a process previously implicated in cell-cycle regulation. This represents a novel mechanism by which long noncoding RNAs can regulate cellular processes, distinct from traditional RNA-protein interactions. The phase separation mechanism was shown to be critical for LINC00599's role in promoting PASMC proliferation and subsequent pulmonary hypertension progression.
