PTEC-hepatocyte co-culture fatty acid efflux study

Exploratory Score: 0.800 Price: $0.50 metabolic syndrome PTEC-hepatocyte transwell co-culture Status: proposed

What This Experiment Tests

Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting RUBCN in PTEC-hepatocyte transwell co-culture. Primary outcome: triglyceride accumulation in hepatocytes

Description

Performed transwell co-culture experiments with RUBCN knockout PTECs and hepatocytes (BNL-CL2 cells) to investigate fatty acid efflux. Found that KO PTECs promoted massive triglyceride accumulation in co-cultured hepatocytes, suggesting accelerated fatty acid efflux from the PTECs. This mechanism was proposed to contribute to the metabolic syndrome observed in KO mice.
