🧫 Experiment Protocol
Exploratorymetabolic syndromeRUBCNPTEC-hepatocyte transwell co-cultureproposed
Performed transwell co-culture experiments with RUBCN knockout PTECs and hepatocytes (BNL-CL2 cells) to investigate fatty acid efflux and its contribution to metabolic syndrome. The study demonstrated that KO PTECs promoted massive triglyceride accumulation in co-cultured hepatocytes, suggesting accelerated fatty acid efflux from PTECs. This experiment provided evidence that enhanced autophagy in PTECs leads to systemic metabolic effects through increased fatty acid export to other tissues.
