Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting PACAP in mPFC brain slices from sleep-deprived mice. Primary outcome: LTP rescue in sleep-deprived tissue
Brain slices from sleep-deprived mice were perfused with a PACAP agonist to test whether PACAP activation could rescue LTP deficits observed in the model. This experiment was designed to validate the specific role of PACAP signaling in mediating the synaptic plasticity improvements and to demonstrate that PACAP pathway activation is sufficient to restore normal synaptic function even in the context of sleep deprivation.
Brain slice preparation from sleep-deprived mice, PACAP agonist perfusion, LTP recordings
PACAP agonist would restore normal LTP in sleep-deprived brain tissue
Significant improvement in LTP amplitude following PACAP agonist treatment
