Replication study in GS:SFHS cohort for MDD risk variants

Exploratory Score: 0.900 Price: $0.50 major depressive disorder human patients Status: proposed

What This Experiment Tests

Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting N/A in human patients. Primary outcome: replication of genetic associations with MDD

Description

Independent replication study using the Generation Scotland: Scottish Family Health Study (GS:SFHS) cohort to validate genetic variants identified in the initial meta-analysis. A total of 171 SNPs with P < 1 × 10^-7 from the meta-analysis were tested for replication in 2,659 MDD cases diagnosed with DSM-IV criteria and 17,237 controls. The replication analysis identified one additional genome-wide significant locus and confirmed the association of previously identified variants.
