Exploratory experiment designed to discover new patterns targeting TBK1 in mouse and human arteries with atherosclerotic plaques. Primary outcome: identification of TBK1 as key mediator of EndMT
Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, immunostaining, RNA sequencing, and Western blot analyses were performed on mouse and human arteries with atherosclerotic plaques to identify key mediators of endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) and atherogenesis. TBK1 was identified as one of the key mediators through these comprehensive proteomic and transcriptomic approaches. The study compared atherosclerotic arteries with controls to determine differential expression patterns of proteins involved in endothelial dysfunction and plaque formation.
