TRIM17 (Tripartite Motif Containing 17), also known as RNF32, is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family of E3 ubiquitin ligases. The TRIM family is characterized by a conserved architecture comprising a RING finger domain, one or two B-box domains, and a coiled-coil region, which together enable these proteins to function as E3 ligases that catalyze the transfer of ubiquitin to substrate proteins[@meroni2005]. TRIM17 is predominantly expressed in the brain, with high expression in the cerebellum, hippocampus, and cerebral cortex, regions critically involved in movement coordination and cognitive function that are prominently affected in various neurodegenerative disorders[@ncbi].
