ATG3 (Autophagy Protein 3) is an E2-like conjugating enzyme that plays a critical role in the autophagy-lysosomal pathway, which is essential for cellular homeostasis and neuronal survival. ATG3 catalyzes the lipidation of LC3 (Microtubule-Associated Protein 1A/1B-Light Chain 3), a crucial step in autophagosome formation.
