Abstract

The treatment of neurological disorders with large-molecule biotherapeutics requires that the therapeutic drug be transported across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). However, recombinant biotherapeutics, such as neurotrophins, enzymes, decoy receptors, and monoclonal antibodies (MAb), do not cross the BBB.
