MTCH2 — Mitochondrial Carrier Homolog 2

Introduction

MTCH2 (Mitochondrial Carrier Homolog 2), also known as mitochondrial carrier 2 or SYNDI, is a member of the mitochondrial carrier family (SLC25A family) that functions as an outer mitochondrial membrane protein involved in metabolite transport, apoptosis regulation, and mitochondrial dynamics [@zhang2019]. MTCH2 plays critical roles in neuronal survival and has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
